Dear friends and youth group leaders:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the opportunities that exist for youth groups at the Traverse City Optimist Cabin Property.

This twenty-seven acre parcel has been set up as an environmental education site for youth groups to learn respect for nature, and gather for outings.

The Optimist Cabin Property facilities include a rustic cabin that was the original Traverse City visitors center, a large covered pavilion with electricity and picnic tables, a hand pump well, rest rooms, a large charcoal grill, a fire pit and camping areas.

The Traverse City Optimist Club is dedicated to educating and supporting youth groups throughout Michigan and the Grand Traverse Region.

It has been our effort to create an outdoor setting that can be used by youth groups of all types, for many different activities, in a natural setting.

In addition the Optimist Club of Traverse City welcomes youth group participation in the improvement and further development of the property for the purposes of youth education. Opportunities include activities such as trail improvement and development or creating educational guides and sites for these trails.

Included in this letter is a brochure and registration form for use of the property. We welcome you and your youth groups to use the property as often as you can, and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
